Samsung Galaxy S III sales have hit the 10 million mark

Samsung Galaxy S III has reached the 10 million units sold mark. Shin Jong-kyun, Samsung's president of information technology and mobile communication division broke the news about the impressive milestone, which is hardly a surprise, given the 9 million preorders for the device from carriers worldwide.

The mark has been reached earlier than the initial prediction, which pointed at the end of this month as the likely timeframe, at the approximate rate of 190,000 units sold every day. It was also accomplished a lot quicker than the time it took the Galaxy S III's predecessor to find 10 million owners.
Samsung expect strong demand for the Galaxy S III to continue in the coming months, as the launch of Apple's next iPhone is not likely to take place before this Fall. Furthermore, the sales of the Galaxy S III for the entre 2012 could reach 40 million units, thus making the smartphone the most succesfull one to come from the Korean company.

Rick Ross Sued For $2 Million Over Cancelled Concert In Nigeria

Rick Ross Sued For $2 Million Over Cancelled Concert In Nigeria

Rick Ross, his sister and his manager are all listed as defendants in a recent lawsuit filed in New York, which claims Ross has failed to return a deposit of $87,500 after a cancelled performance.
Rick Ross is no stranger to lawsuits at this point in his career, and now he's faced with another. This time it isn't about his name though, it's about a cancelled concert in Nigeria.
Rick Ross, his sister, Tawanda Roberts, and his manager Michael Lighty are all being sued for almost $2 million in damages by a UK promotional company over a cancelled concert in Nigeria from 2011.
The lawsuit was filed on July 3rd according to AllHipHop, in the Supreme Court of New York, by Zons P.R.
The annual event in Nigeria, called the Star Mega Jam, draws around 50,000 people, making it the biggest of its kind in West Africa. Rick Ross was set to headline the 2011 Star Mega Jam, taking place on December 17th.
The lawsuit claims that Zons P.R. began negotiating with Tawanda Robert, who also acts as Ross' manager, on behalf of Ross. Zons P.R. then deposited $87,500 into Ross' account, with the agreement that Ross would do certain tasks, such as promotional drops for the concert, leading up to the concert date, which he did not do.The company also claims that Ross was asking questions about his safety in Nigeria, and ultimately cancelled on the event, claiming "the violent events in Nigeria" was the reason.Ross was supposed to return the 87k to Zons P.R., however failed to do so. When the company realized their money was not being returned, they tried to arrange a different performance for Rick Ross in the future, but the MMG boss would not comply.

Microsoft announces Office 2013, Preview now available for download

Microsoft has announced the newest version of their office suite of application, Office 2013, or as they call it, the new Office. The new Office comes with a host of new improvements, including changes to the UI as well as under the hood.

The most noticeable change is the new set of icons for all the apps within the suite. Just like the Windows 8 icon, Office icons feature a monochrome icon with a tilted perspective. The user interface of the applications has also been slightly modified to fit into the new Metro UI on Windows 8. However, the application isn’t designed entirely with the Metro UI because at the end of the day it will be running within the desktop mode in Windows 8.
What this means is that the new apps show a mish-mash of the old and new UI. In some cases you will see hints of the Metro UI. In others, you will see the same old Office design that you find on the current Office 2010, including the cluttered ribbon on top.
Since it is designed to work with touchscreen displays, the UI has been slightly optimized to accept inputs from your finger. Still, it is disappointing to see how little optimization has been done, as most of the buttons in the UI still look like they are designed for a keyboard and mouse, and the early previews mention the same.
Other new additions include stylus support for scribbling on the screen, integrated SkyDrive, Skype and Yammer support, and a lot more.
The new Office will be released in fall and come in three versions for Windows and OS X. Each version will include the basic apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher and Access. In addition, you get the following:
Office 365 Home Premium that comes with 20GB SkyDrive storage and 60 minutes of Skype world minutes per month
Office 365 Small Business Premium that includes business-grade email, shared calendars, website tools and HD web conferencing
Office 365 ProPlus with advanced business capabilities and the flexibility to deploy and manage in the cloud
The new Office will be available as a cloud-based subscription service. As a subscriber, you will get the aforementioned extras and also multiple installs for multiple users and devices. And of course, devices running Windows RT will have the new Office pre-installed.
The new Office is only supported on Windows 7 and 8, with support for Vista and XP being dropped in this version. If you have a Windows 7 or 8 installed on your machine,

Samsung plans to unveil the Galaxy Note 2 on August 30

According to the Korean Digital Daily website Samsung is planning to have an Unpacked event for the Galaxy Note 2. It should happen on August 30 - a day before the IFA expo kicks off in Berlin, Germany.
According to the information the event will start at 19:00 (local time, CET) and will be all about the Galaxy Note 2. As the latest rumors have it, the Note’s successor will be powered by a quad-core Exynos chipset, will feature a 13MP camera and will actually be narrower despite the larger, 5.5" screen. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean should be powering the whole thing.
With the original Galaxy Note going official at last year's IFA, it was only logical for its successor to arrive at the same event a year later. Yet, Samsung decided not to bring the Galaxy S III to the MWC earlier this year, so there was always the chance that the Koreans will have a separate event for their other key device as well. It's good this isn't the case, though.
Naturally, we'll be onsite covering the Sasmung Galaxy Note 2 announcement live for you, so make sure to keep an eye on our homepage when the time comes.

Purported images of the next generation iPhone leaks

We have seen leaked images of the next generation iPhone before but those were just of the aluminum back shell.

Today, we have what looks like a completely assembled device placed next to the current iPhone 4S. As before, the device is noticeably longer pointing towards a bigger, widescreen display. We can see edge to edge glass on top and the black aluminum body on the side.
The previous pictures also denoted a two tone back, with plastic/glass on the top and bottom and aluminum in the middle. In these, however, the back seems to be of a single color. The bottom has also been redesigned with a completely new, smaller dock connector, large grilles for the speaker and microphone and a headphone jack, which has been relocated to the bottom.

As is often the case, one should take these with a pinch of salt. Still, these are some fairly convincing images. We'll be seeing more of these as the launch of the next generation iPhone draws closer.

Android now powers 51.8% of US smartphones, growth continues

Popular analyst company Nielsen has published its report on the US smartphone market in the second quarter of 2012. The quarter saw smartphone growth continue as two thirds of all new customers picked a smartphone. Android continues to be in lead, powering 51.8% of all US smartphones and 54.6% of the ones purchased over the past three months. And that was the quarter before the Samsung Galaxy S III was launched.

iOS is the other platform on the rise, with Apple's OS accounting for 34.3% of US smartphones and 36.3% of the newly acquired ones. Expectedly iOS is starting to lose pace in the third quarter of iPhone 4S availability, but things are bound to change once the iPhone 5 comes out.
BlackBerry is the only other platform on record by Nielsen and it continues its free fall. While the RIM OS still powers a respectable 8.1% of US smartphones, it only managed a market share of 4% with new subscribers. This means that it might soon join the dreaded "others" category, officially turning the US smartphone market into a two-horse race.

As for the platform that is hoping to escape that category - Windows Phone - only managed a market share of 1.3%. The Nokia Lumia lineup is still struggling to make an impact, covering just 0.3% of the market, despite the heavy promotion of the Lumia 900 by both the Finns and AT&T.

Music: Premiere: Rick Ross Reveals New Maybach Signee Rockie Fresh

With the bevy of new rappers sprouting up by the day, it's easy to get lost in the mix. Which is why when news hit yesterday that Chicago upstart Rockie Fresh inked a deal with Rick Ross's near-invincible Maybach Music Group, there was much chatter about the young MC, whose named still hadn't cracked certain circles. Whether the pundits were hip to him or not, Rockie's been buzzed about in label offices since his debut mixtape, Rockie's Modern Life, dropped in 2009, and he's been building a solid fanbase by blending the dense chords and atmosphere of alternative rock with quick-witted lyricism and an authentic Midwest twang. Having toured with artists as wide-ranging as Wale and Fall Out Boy, the 21-year-old MC is poised to make a major dent in the rap game, starting with his upcoming mixtape Electric Highway and a 20-city headlining tour. Rolling Stone caught up with Rockie to discuss the details of the deal, his relationship with Rick Ross, his dualistic sound and the explosion of hip-hop coming out of the Chi. The news of your deal hit like a whirlwind. What have the past 24 hours been like? It's been a blur. When I signed it was real late, and a lot of people asked why I did it so late but me and Ross wanted to make it something real. We had hung out that night, and that was the time that we felt it was appropriate. I ended up not getting any sleep that night and flew back to Chicago that morning. When I got back to my crib, my dogs was trippin' so I didn't get any sleep. By that time my friends had already got the news, so I was catching up with all of them and seeing all of the people that helped me make it possible. Last night was a long night, too. I haven't even had the opportunity to sit down and take it all in. It definitely feels crazy. At one point you were fielding interest from Bad Boy and Universal, and I'm sure other folks came knocking. Why Maybach? It made sense to be on a whole 'nother level. I toured with Wale before even really meeting with Ross. I actually did a show with Ross in L.A. – I'm not sure if he even remembers that, but I opened for him before. I did some shows with Meek [Mill] before. They were always around, but I never made the connection to think that we'd be able to do business together down the line. When the opportunity arose it made me look back at the situation and decide this was the place I needed to be at. What kind of deal is it? How many projects are we expecting? I got a multi-album deal, you can be expecting a lot of stuff coming from me in the next few years. I've got a lot to talk about and a lot of life to experience. It's real powerful. I feel like I'm ensured to take over the game real soon. We know Ross as the face of the label, and you mentioned you've performed with Wale and Meek. Is there anyone else in the camp that you've connected with? Not yet. I'm a real low-key dude. When the situation arises, I'll be cool with anybody, but I haven't crossed paths with much of the crew besides Wale and Meek. The relationship I got with Ross is real dope, so I expect it to be the same across the board. Can we expect some collaborations with those dudes on the upcoming Electric Highway? Yeah, definitely. We're gonna work out some crazy stuff. I'm gonna be dropping a record probably within the next two weeks. I wanted to give it time to settle in first. There's lots of different reactions and stuff like that, so I wanted to give it time to calm down just so people could hear the record from me and take it in. Let's talk about the music for a bit. You blend rock and hip-hop in really interesting ways, and you toured with Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump last year. Can you talk about that experience? What did you learn from him? This is the cool part about every situation I'm in. People reach out because they really respect the music and the direction I'm going in. When I dropped the Otherside mixtape, Patrick reached out to me via Twitter and invited me to his crib in L.A. I always was a fan of Fall Out Boy, but just to see him working live and explaining to me certain things from an artist's perspective, that was crazy in itself. And then when I was on tour with him, I felt like it was an opportunity for me to really take rap to another level. He has a different sound, and when I was on that tour, a lot of people were not … they didn't dislike rap music, but it's not what they were used to listening to. It was a blessing to be on that type of tour. I learned a lot. He's a crazy performer, and well-rounded as an artist. He's going to be on my project, and definitely on my first album. How did you get the musical context that you came to? Who are some of the artists you grew up listening to? I grew up listening to Kanye, Jay-Z, Lupe, Lil Wayne, dudes who I really respected for being themselves. Even with Rick Ross, I was a huge fan of his flow patterns and the way he did hooks. I just realized, man, all the artists I really respect, they have something that makes them obviously different, whether it's the beats that they use or the flows that they use. When I started out, that was what I tried to focus on, having my own sound and my own style so that when people hear the record, they know it's a Rockie Fresh type thing. MMG also has a very identifiable sound in hip-hop right now. How do you plan to merge those two, coming out of that crew but still having a unique identity? I think that's the incredible thing about features. The fact that me and Meek are two different types of artists and we can collaborate on a record, it just causes us to be ourselves and do what's best for the song to make it something interesting for the people. When I'm doing my own personal records, they really stand true to my sound. These collaborations will take my sound and blend it with someone else's to create something we can all appreciate. Who are some of the producers that you're reaching out to now? Who are you excited to get in the studio with? I think MMG's in-house team can make great radio records, and that's something I definitely want to add to my arsenal. I'm looking forward to working with Harry Fraud – he's a dope young dude coming up right now, and me and him have been talking back and forth. He actually just send me some beats last night. And definitely people I've been working with. I definitely want to work with Pharrell and Kanye, but I'm tryin' to keep it young. The sounds that are coming out of Chicago are so diverse, and a lot of these styles developed in isolated pockets throughout the city. Where do you think your sound fits into the Chicago hip-hop soundscape? I've definitely been around the hood my whole life, so that gave me an appreciation for urban music. But then I had the opportunity to live in the suburbs and go to a really diverse high school, and it made me appreciate rock and alternative music. When I add that to my music, it's not too many other Chicago artists that take that approach. Instrumentally and emotionally, it causes me to go to a different place with it. I'm that more mellow, chill vibe in the Chicago scene. This has been a crazy summer for Chicago, between Kanye and G.O.O.D Music and the ground-level stuff that's happening with Chief Keef and King Louie. What are your thoughts on what's going on in Chicago hip-hop right now? It's amazing. I haven't met Chief Keef yet, but I got a huge respect for what he does. Louie, L.E.P, even the guys at G.O.O.D, these are guys I have respect for and they have respect for me. With all of us on the come up, doing something we all dreamed of doing, it's an amazing time.

The Angry Birds universe will undergo another expansion at the end of the year. After a small teaser on the E3 in June, Rovio has finally spoken on the matter.

New Angry Birds versions that are being “built from the ground up” will hit the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS in the holiday season.

The console Angry Birds offerings will include the original Angry Birds game, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio. It is yet unknown if the game will pack all the levels available on iOS and Android.
The fact that Rovio rebuilt the game from scratch for the consoles allowed the devs to include animated backgrounds, new and better effects, HD (and probably Full HD) resolution support, etc. MS Kinect, PS3 Move and 3DS StreetPass support is going to be included as well.
There will be new leaderboard and achievements system as well as individual score charts for each level.

NOLLYWOOD STAR,STEPHANIE OKEREKE WEDS LINUS IDAHOSA AT A CLASSY CEREMONY IN PARIS, FRANCE

Nollywood Star, Stephanie Okereke has played many movie roles and graced the cover of many posters and glossy magazines over the years, but no role yet will be greater and more important than the one she performed on April 21, 2012 when she walked down the aisle with her friend and sweet heart, International PR Consultant and businessman, Linus Idahosa.
The couple chose to celebrate this important occasion in their lives with a very intimate and classy ceremony in Paris, the famous city of love.

It is obvious that Stephanie and Linus have very high and elegant taste. This was shown in the venue that they decided to use for their nuptials. It was no ordinary event’s place, they chose the exotic, historic and scenic, Abbaye des Vaux dey Cernay.

This famous property, founded in 1118 formed the perfect backdrop for Stephanie and Linus as they professed love to each other and vowed to live happily together forever. What made this wedding very spectacular is that apart from the venue, every part of the ceremony was colourful and classy.

Their journey to marital bliss began on April 20, 2012 with a lively boat cruise. The cruise on the River Palace, took everyone on an excursion along the famous Seine River, not far from the famous Eiffel Tower. Complete with dinner, it was a very exhilarating experience for all.

We gathered that this was planned to be cool evening to welcome guests who had come from many corners of the world and put them in the right mood for the main event that was to unfold the next day.

For her special occasion, the 30 year-old star who hails from Imo State, South East Nigeria chose a sensational strapless wedding dress by Lebanese Fashion Designer, Elie Saab. The oufit is from his 2012 Euterpe Collection but the stylish Stephanie added a personal touch to her outfit with a belt dotted with precious jewels.

With the sun shining high in the cloudless turquoise sky that April afternoon, the beautiful bride shimmered  as she made her into the venue for the solemnization. The debonair groom; who wore a lovely outfit by Imaggine For men, Per Nino, was very relaxed and waiting for her eagerly.

That was not all, another testimony to the stately nature of this well-crafted ceremony was that as she made her dramatic entry, the  music that wafted from the orchestra as procession hymn was German Baroque Composer, Johann Pachelbel’s Canon D major. For those who don’t know this 1680s composition  is Pachelbel’s most famous piece.

When she arrived the front of the hall, the official ceremonies began-and it was co-ordinated by Apostle Johnson Suleman . With popular hymns such as Blessed Assurance and How Great Thou Art being sung by the congregation and lots of prayers too for the couple, the ceremony was lively.

The highest point was when the couple took their vows. Amidst jokes and laughter, Apostle Suleiman joined them as husband and wife! Following their exchange of rings, the emotional bride and groom kissed to warm applause by guests which included first-rate Nollywood celebrities, close friends and family members.

This part of the ceremony over, guests stepped out of the little area for photo-calls, while the couple went to change into more casual but not-the-less stylish outfits.

The reception venue was a sight to behold. It was created to be enchanting and romantic. Lovely flowers, scented candles and Victorian candle stands, and other decorations added a touch of elegance to the arrangement.
Cocktails and delicious canapés were served as the wedding party mingled. From all indication’s everything on the couple’s list for the special day went according to plan.

The reception which had Frank Edoho, famous TV personality and Presenter, Who Wants to be a Millionaire (Nigeria) and broadcaster, Israel Edjarean as hosts was filled with fun and excitement. There was good music and wonderful food for all the savour.

There were very speeches as the couple wanted the event to flow and guests to have the time of their lives. One of the VIPs that joined the party at the reception was the Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah.

The day was rounded off with an energetic dance session, where everyone really let go-and the whole ceremony came to an end in superlative style with a spectacular fireworks display. The fireworks really dazzled all and lit up the lovely Paris skies for many minutes! It was a fitting finale to a truly grand celebration

Days later, Ovation, had this exclusive interview with the latest bride in town and new Mrs. Stephanie Idahosa. The elated Stephanie spoke about the preparations and gave an insight into their love story.
Congratulations on your wedding, your wedding outfit was so resplendent. Who made it and how did you come about settling for that particular dress for your special day

It was by Eliab Saab. I loved it as soon as I saw and put it on. Though I tried a few but the dress I wore just suited my personality and also the theme of our wedding. Prior to that I had looked through various designs just to pick my gown for the day. It was tough, until I saw that gown.

It must have been hectic preparing for the occasion, tell us about it, the shopping, the planning etc

I did most of the planning with my husband. We did a lot of travelling before our wedding, so we were able to decide the colours and the kind of wedding we wanted. And we had wonderful planners.

Why Paris and whose idea was it

We went to Paris because we wanted somewhere serene, beautiful and romantic. We both had a very special experience in one of our trips to France; It just had to be Paris.

The wedding proper, did it go according to plan

Yes it did, it was exactly how we had imagined it would be.

You and your husband are very popular in Nigeria, why did you leave many out of this celebration of love

We didn't leave many out of the celebration because people celebrated with us whether they were in Paris or not. Although we wanted something very personal and spiritual. It is never about the crowd you are able to pull, it was about both of us and our readiness to take our sacred commitment to the next level . But we are very grateful for all the love and well wishes we got from everyone.

Ok, let us backtrack a bit, we knew you both as business partners at what stage did dating come into the picture

Business partners? No, It was often a misrepresentation by the Press. As an International PR consultant, he had carried me along some of his business interests; one of such was for a celebrity endorsement for a Financial institution in the Middle East ready to make its way into Africa; that was our first acquaintance; his demur, professionalism and courtesy was very striking; things took a different turn as we moved along. Not too long afterwards, he made it absolutely clear he was ready to take our relationship to the next level; it was no surprise, we both fell in love.

What did you find in Linus that convinced you enough to want to spend the rest of your life with him

He is God-fearing, a man of the spirit with a good sense of well-being, selflessness, ambitious, very focused, exudes confidence; in summary a man's man.

Where, when and how did he pop the question

It was during my birthday. He had arranged with my family and friends. And he asked if I’d marry him. It was a beautiful thing.

And what was your immediate reaction, did you play hard to get

When you know what you want, you don’t play with it, you take it seriously. The minute he proposed, I knew it was no game; I took him seriously and I said “yes”, because he totally represents what a good man should be.

Let us set the records straight, is this your first or second marriage

My first! Whatever I had initially was annulled by a Judge; making it null and void in the court of Law; moreso, there was never a dowry paid or accepted by either parents. I truly hope this sets the record straight; youthful exuberance is no excuse to be addressed as previously married. I have no ex, this is my first marriage.

Ok, back to the D-Day were members of your family there to share in the joy of the occasion

Both Families, friends, colleagues business associates; It was indeed a beautiful day.

Was there any significance about the date you chose to seal your love

We had wanted it earlier but we got too busy. The plans were already there so we just needed to create time to celebrate our love, and April seemed a good time because it is Spring. It is a season where new things are born. What better time to birth the new beginning of our live together!

Tell us the difference between Stephanie Okereke and Mrs. Stephanie Idahosa, what has changed since the transition

Marriage changes you for the better. There are changes. I am now married and have moved to another phase of life. I have a good man, soon the children will follow, and you know God loves the family, the way He intended. I believe I will be more blessed as a wife and mother than I have ever been because God takes a praying family seriously, and His grace is sufficient.

Someone told us he is a very romantic person, is it true

Oh yes, he is. A very romantic man, full of beautiful surprises!

What has been the most romantic surprise he has given you

The wedding we had was my husband's gift to me. Every day with him is a surprise.

What would you say has kept this relationship going

We have surrendered our relationship to God. That is the most important thing. God is the one driving it; and with Him at the steering wheel, we can’t go wrong.

The reception venue was wow, was it your concept, or your event planner

It was what we wanted for our wedding. How we wanted it to be. Our wedding planners were awesome.

You have grown from a Nollywood actress to an entrepreneur, tell us how the journey has been

Challenging and exciting. We have to evolve to become whatever it is we desire.

Any projects in the pipeline, and tell us a bit about yourself, growing up, education, adventure in Nollywood

I am pursuing my various business and projects which you’ll know about as they unfold. Nollywood is the platform that launched me into the world. I am an actress so it is always a delight when I am working, acting, and birthing ideas.

What is your prayer to God as you both begin this journey to marital bliss

To show us how to remain in love, which is God.
THE VENUE
Vaux-de-Cernay Abbey was founded in 1118 by a group of monks from Savigny Abbey (in Manche).  In 1873, Baron Nathaniel Rothschild acquired the park and building and began a reconstruction of the Estate. In 1945, it was purchased by Mr. Amiot, an Airplane Constructor. The estate served as a research ground for over thirty years. In 1988 ownership changed hands again, this time it was bought by Mr. Savry and redeveloped as a high-class hotel and restaurant.

Vaux de Cernay Abbey, located in the Chevreuse Valley in the Rambouillet state-owned forest, is an enchanted place and the perfect spot to recharge your batteries. Vaux de Cernay Abbey’s extraordinary architecture emerges from where power and mystery preside. Thus, it has been reborn and brought back to life: a cellar transformed into a music lounge and a gothic lounge with its enormous chimneys, a former lay brother refectory into a restaurant and re-baptised ‘the prayer table’, a surprising monastic room with two spanning ridge beams and sandstone capitol columns.

According to the facility “It is surrounded by more than eight centuries of history. The former cloister, reading gallery, mill and chapter house have found their existential callings. The Cistercians created these magical places blessed by God and protected by the Kings of France we needed to revive them. St Louis and Margaret of Provence drank miracle water from the St Thibault fountain and it made this Queen of France fertile. The spring is still in the nearby woods and soothes the thirst of our guests”.

Sony Xperia P pink version spotted

Pink seems to be becoming increasingly popular with smartphone manufacturers recently. Yesterday we saw Nokia and AT&T announce the pink Lumia 900 and now pink version of the Sony Xperia P was spotted at the company’s Weibo event. Sporting the same construction as the already available black, silver and red editions, the pink aims to bring a few more female customers to the Sony shops.

Unfortunately there is still no official info regarding the availability of the pink Xperia P availability or pricing. There is a chance it might stay an Asia-exclusive , given that it was unveiled at a local event and there is still no word of it on the company's official website.

Android 4.0 user base increases to 10.9 percent

Now there is some good news and some bad news. The good news is that the Android 4.0 adoption is at an all time high. You may remember that we reported last month that the Android 4.0 user base stands at 7.1 percent. In a span of just one month, that has jumped to 10.9 percent, which is quite impressive.
The reason for this could be attributed to several popular new handsets such as the HTC One series and the Samsung Galaxy S III shipping with Android 4.0 out of the box. Also, a lot of the older phones are now finally getting the Android 4.0 update.
Now comes the bad news. Despite the increase in the adoption rate, one can't ignore the fact that Android 4.0 is now 8.5 months old and even then it is still running on 10.9 percent of all the Android devices out there.
Secondly, and this is worse, a staggering 64 percent of Android users are still stuck on Gingerbread, which is 19 months old. And even worse, 17.3 percent of Android users are on Froyo, which was released 26 months ago. And then there are some who are still on Eclair, which was released some time during the Stone Age.
What this tells us is that if you're waiting to get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on your non-Nexus devices, you are going to have to wait for a long, long time.

Nigerian men are gold diggers

Lizzy Anjorin is one Yoruba actress that has paid her dues in Nigeria's film industry called Nollywood. Her much dirty fight with colleague, Iyabo Ojo was only recently settled. In this interview, this mother of one opened up on her love life like never before. Excerpt

Do you still believe in love ?

Yes I do .There is true love . But in Nigeria of nowadays ,there is no true without money .Even as a young girl , if you are not well equipped financially , men will be far from you. In fact most Nigerian men are gold diggers .They want to get married to ladies with good family background (big men’s daughters ). They don’t want to build their own women .

I could remember when a guy brought one lady to the city and refused to assist her become a full -fledged woman . His fear was that the lady would later dump him for another man after he had finished investing in her . That’s absolute nonsense . Men want to reap where they did not sow but you can make a woman and take the whole glory .

If the father of your 15 year old daughter returns to you today, would you accept him ?

Unfortunately , he is late now . My daughter will be entering SS1 very soon . And she is 15years of age .

Have you ever experienced true love ?

Of course , I have but …..

Meaning what ? They broke your heart or you broke theirs ?

Are men’s heart breaka>ble ? No human being can break my heart .Break it for what ?I’m not a lazy person .You can only break somebody’s heart when that person does not know what he or she is doing . You break my heart because you told me you are no longer interested in the relationship or I break your relationship because I said to you I can no longer cope with the relationship .

Talk about true love , there is no sincere love. How can you see me on screen and want to take me to the altar? You love me apparently because of what I’m doing on screen ,or who I am .You want already made woman and you don’t want to help in building one , my heart has no> room for such men.

Are you in love at the moment ?

Yes I’m dating someone . I’m in a relationship. After my mother’s death , life continues

“I’m pregnant again,” says gay Nigerian man who claimed husband padlocked his manhood Story by Dimokokorkusstella

It’s either Chika is messing with Stella Dimoko Korkus…or they are both just messing with the rest of us. Chika is the gay Nigerian who lives in Germany and is married to German Mark Schwartz. The interview between Chika and Stella was in Encomium mag last week.

Chika: I’ve been having some strange feelings inside me

Stella: How?

Chika: Waking up late, sleeping early. My waist is at times hurting me and I keep spitting and almost vomiting. As I am talking with you now, I am running a temperature, and the worst is my legs are heavy as if its swollen. I am not just myself as I always have fainting spells and I don’t know what to do.

Stella: What you are describing is like pregnancy symptoms but you are a man so how can you be pregnant?

Chika: I don’t know o my sister. I am afraid I don’t want that because I have had it once and it was taken out and now again, after a year and some months, it’s back again.

Stella: You were pregnant before?

Chika: Yes. Please pray for me. Before such has happened but not the same feeling like now. Then I was three weeks pregnant.

Stella: How is it possible? You have a womb?

Chika: The doctors say I have a womb but tiny, that it is not going to happen again. I have a womb but how can I give birth when I have only a penis?

Stella: So how did the doctor abort your last pregnancy?

Chika: The doctor cut my tummy open from under my navel down the last time. Let me rest now please, you are making me panic. I don’t want anything to happen to me, I don’t want to die.

This is really cracking me up…Could it really be true?

Men Can’t Get HIV From Women

(BlackDoctor.org) — How does HIV spread? Who’s most susceptible to infection? These are just a couple of questions that, thanks to myths and misconceptions, may be just one of the reasons that new cases of HIV infection are highest in the Black community.
So what are the real facts that you need to know? BDO HIV Expert, Dr. Keith Crawford, weighs in…
Q: I think I actually witnessed the spread of HIV misconceptions! Basically, I overheard some guys at work talking about married male celebrities and their infidelities, and how the wives of these celebrities had nothing to worry about regarding the rumored lack of protection used during these indiscretions, because “it’s next to impossible for a man to pick up the HIV virus from a woman.” Is this true? Is there any data to support that one group of people can more easily spread the virus than another group?
A: Well, I can top that misconception with one even more ridiculous. There are some parts of Africa where it is widely believed that a man infected with HIV can rid himself of the infection by having sex with a virgin! This deplorably ignorant myth has led to widespread rape of young girls, and of course, new infections. Ignorance kills!
Your co-workers are obviously incorrect. It is true that it is easier for an HIV-infected man to infect a woman than it is for an HIV-infected woman to infect a man. This is a result of the basic anatomy of sexual intercourse. However, this is a far cry from thinking it is virtually impossible for a man to pick up HIV from a woman.
In the early years of the AIDS epidemic in the US, it became well recognized that gay men and intravenous drug users were the major groups affected by HIV. It appears that some heterosexual men assumed that if they weren’t having sex with men, or injecting drugs, they were not at risk for. This erroneous belief has contributed to the devastating epidemic among African-Americans. While we were painting a picture of HIV as a “white gay” disease, we should have been looking across the Atlantic. In Africa, where several million of people have already died, homosexual sex and intravenous drug use represent only a small percentage of the risk factors for those who are and were infected. Yet, there are, and have always been, almost equal numbers of men and women infected with the virus! This should have tipped us off of the risk from heterosexual intercourse decades ago. It did not.
In my city of Washington DC, the number of new infections from heterosexual intercourse surpassed those from homosexual intercourse and intravenous drug use a few years ago.
Research on heterosexual transmission has shed some light on the factors that can increase transmission:
• Years ago, studies from Africa demonstrated that the amount of virus in a person’s blood is a major determinant of whether a person’s partner gets infected, whether they are male or female. In general, women need more virus in the blood to infect a man than a man needs to infect a woman. However, if we reduce the amount of virus in the blood to undetectable levels (through treatment with medications), almost no transmission occurs!
• Uncircumcised men are at increased risk of being infected by women. This has resulted in massive campaigns in many African countries to get men circumcised in communities where it is not commonly practiced.
• In addition to this, the presence of an STD (e.g. gonorrhea, herpes, Chlamydia, syphilis) can increase infection by a couple of ways. First, the infection increases the production of HIV in semen or vaginal fluid, so the partner is exposed to more virus. Second, the infection damages the mucous membranes making it easier for HIV cross. Women may often have no symptoms of an STD and may not seek care in a timely manner.
What’s one factor that can help decrease HIV transmission? Sharing knowledge and helping to dispel these dangerous myths. Tell your coworkers the facts – it may help save lives!

Apple pays US$60M for ownership of iPad trademark in China

Apple has agreed to pay US$60 million for ownership of the iPad trademark in China, as part of a settlement with a little-known Chinese firm called Proview that had tried to ban sales of the tablet in the country, according to a local court.
The Guangdong Province Higher People’s Court announced the settlement on Monday, and stated that the legal dispute had been put to rest. Following the payment to Proview, Chinese authorities transferred the “IPAD” trademark to Apple.
The two companies have been locked in a legal dispute to determine ownership of the iPad trademark, with Apple claiming to have bought the iPad trademarks for China from Proview in 2009.
Proview, a PC and display vendor now facing possible bankruptcy, however, argued that the company had never officially sold the iPad trademarks to Apple. The Chinese company filed complaints and lawsuits, demanding that local authorities stop sales of the iPad in the country because of trademark infringement.
The Guangdong court was originally expected to rule on the case. But Apple and Proview were in recent months in talks to settle the dispute, at the initiative of the court.
Apple did not respond immediately to a request for comment. The company’s latest version of the iPad has yet to be sold in the country, despite clearing regulatory checks. Analysts have said the legal dispute over the iPad trademark could be delaying the product’s sale.
Proview had wanted as much as $400 million in settlement from Apple in order to help clear its debts. Eight banks have taken over Proview’s assets and are owed $180 million.
Li Su, the head of the consultancy representing the eight banks, said Apple initially wanted to pay only a few million dollars for the iPad trademark. But over time, Apple negotiated in good faith, realizing the dispute would linger in Chinese courts unless a settlement was reached, he added.
“Some may feel that Apple had help from Chinese leaders by spending a lot of effort on public relations,” he said, noting how Apple’s CEO Tim Cook visited China in March and met with government officials.
“But I think Apple was acting in good faith,” Su added. “Apple only needed to pay a small amount to resolve what could have been a major inconvenience,” he said.
Su said he did not know how the $60 million received from Apple would be spent

Wife Catches Her Hubby Having Sex With Dog

According to a report culled from the sun uk, a woman refused to go to bed with her ex-husband found him having sex with her dog soon afterwards, a jury heard today.
Naked Nicholas Saunders whistled Sasha the bull mastiff to his ex-wife’s bedroom, it was said.
Stunned Kelly Thacker, who had gone downstairs to sleep, told police she opened the door to the shocking scene.
Prosecuting, Frank Abbott said Ms Thacker “found it difficult to believe” when she saw Saunders “clearly trying” to have intercourse with Sasha. Mr Abbott said: “Ms Thacker just couldn’t believe what she was seeing to start off with so she looked away and then looked again.”
Shocked Ms Thacker told 46-year-old Saunders “in no uncertain terms” to leave her house, Mr Abbott told Gloucester Crown Court. The dad-of-two later agreed to have a swab taken – and dog DNA was found by a forensic scientist, the court heard.
Mr Abbott said Saunders had gone to see his ex-wife – they married in 1999 and separated three years later – after being kicked out by his girlfriend. She agreed to let him stay the night in her bedroom – but made it plain she would not be having sex with him and would be sleeping downstairs.
They chatted for half an hour before going upstairs to her bedroom where she sat on the bed as he got undressed and got in it.
The dog turned up and Saunders said to it: “You’ve just ruined my chances”, said Mr Abbott.
He added: “You may think that he had rather hoped to have sex with his ex-wife, and the dog getting on the bed had got in the way.”
Later Ms Thacker heard Saunders whistling the dog to go upstairs. She followed it up – and then saw her husband having sex with Sasha, said Mr Abbott.
The prosecutor said when Saunders was arrested he told cops the dog had got on the bed when he was naked and woken him up by licking his face.
He denied any indecent act had occurred but refused to make any further comment. The prosecutor said the jury would be hearing from forensic scientists for both the prosecution and defence.
He added: “It is not only something unusual but it is also something which you might find repulsive. “It is something which of course is wrong and criminal to all right-thinking people.”
Saunders, of Lechlade, Gloucestershire has pleaded not guilty to having intercourse with an animal. Trial continues.(the sun uk)

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 review: Take two

Introduction

It seems that Samsung have taken it upon themselves on literally making a tablet for everyone. With all of the Galaxy Tab variants out there, the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 it seems like systematic attempt by Samsung to put a unique tablet variant in the hands of every living person on the planet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 official photos
After just 6 months since the release of the original Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, the Tab 2 7.0 has hardware which is, frankly, not much of an upgrade in most cases. It features the same 7 inch (obviously) PLS LCD display, and the connectivity features are identical as well. The processor has been downgraded from a dual-core 1.2GHz to a dual-core 1GHz silicon.
From software standpoint we have a different story, as the Tab 2 runs an improved Android build compared to its predecessor. The Android ICS build 4.0.3 on the Tab 2 is much more responsive than Honeycomb and actually makes for a user-friendly experience. And of course, the Tab 2 7.0 is more affordable than the Tab 7.0 Plus as well.
For now, here are the features and downsides of the new Tab 2 at a glance:

Key features

  • 7.0" 16M-color PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen of WSVGA resolution (1024 x 600 pixels)
  • Weighs 344 g
  • TI OMAP 4430 chipset: Dual-core 1GHz processor; 1GB of RAM; PowerVR SGX540 GPU
  • Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich with TouchWiz UX UI
  • Optional quad-band GPRS/EDGE and tri-band HSPA connectivity (HSDPA, 21 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps)
  • Support for voice calls, texts and MMS for the 3G version
  • 8/16/32 GB of built-in memory
  • 3.2 MP camera, 2048x1536 pixels, geotagging
  • Front-facing camera supports video calling
  • 1080p HD video recording @ 30 fps
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi Direct, dual-band, Wi-Fi hotspot
  • Stereo Bluetooth v3.0
  • microSD card slot
  • Standard 3.5 mm audio jack
  • Adobe Flash 11 support
  • GPS with A-GPS support; digital compass
  • 1080p DivX/XviD/MKV video support with subtitles
  • Accelerometer and proximity sensor; three-axis Gyroscope sensor
  • Polaris office document editor preinstalled
  • 4000 mAh Li-Po rechargeable battery

Main disadvantages

  • Front-facing camera is only VGA resolution
  • No LED flash for primary camera
  • Has a non-replaceable battery
  • Uses a proprietary 30-pin connector port for charging and connectivity
  • One of the lowest-capacity batteries in the range
  • No USB charging
For whoever's keeping track, it also doesn't have an infrared port, but we're not really sure if anyone even used the one on the original Tab 7.0, or its preloaded Smart Remote app, so it's not that great of a loss.

One thing to keep in mind is that in the 7" Android tablet market the name of the game is affordability rather than features. Coming up is our hardware examination of the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, where we see how much bang you get for your buck. The slate is essentially Samsung's answer to the hot-selling Amazon Kindle Fire. It offers an entry into the Android tablet realm at a highly affordable price (the 8GB Wi-Fi only version costs $249.99).
